1890s Walking Suit and Evening Bodice

Based on an original design and constructed with original practice and modern techniques.

This project was completed over the course of three months. I started with the sketch and then sourced my materials. With a thought to historical practice and modern sustainability in mind, I used eleven yards of silk taffeta, five yards of tarlatan (a loosely-woven stiffened cotton), four yards of a cotton-linen blend, two yards of cotton organdy, and countless yards of lace and ribbon.

There are two journal entries about this project - go check them out!
