Elisabeth Skirt

$135.00

This hand-painted skirt, meant to symbolize swirling dust sticking to skin, represents the myth of Lady Midday. She appears to young men and women working during the hottest parts of summer days in a whirlwind of grit and dirt. Lady Midday challenges the men to answer her questions. If they fail to answer or change the topic, she kills them with her scythe or shears. She challenges young women to dance with her. If they can dance until nightfall, she presents them with a rich dowry for marriage.

This skirt is made from layers of textured tulle with a lining layer of hand-painted cotton poplin. It ties on both sides. This item is a PREORDER and is expected to ship in May/June.
