Madeline Macek is a dress historian and seamstress specializing in recreation and design.

I have several years of experience in research and dress history, starting when I was a young child with a niche interest. Since then I have built a personal collection of antique garments while working in theatre. With five years of costuming and seven years of dedicated research under my belt, I hope to continue sewing, researching, and learning!

I seek to learn the history of dress and culture to better understand the modern world. For my own recreations, I use my knowledge of history to create an accurate product while blending modern ideas of ethical labor and sustainable practices. I’m also very passionate about education. I hope to be a resource to others who are curious about history, sewing, or historical sewing.
